“Domo Arigato, Mr Roboto.” These Automations Saved My Life!

There’s been a lot of talk lately about how computers are taking over our lives.

ChatGPT can write anything you want, from a college essay to a legal contract. And of course, we’re glued to our phones 24/7 like moths to a flame.

Now that I think about it, this fear of intelligent robots has been around forever! Consider popular movies like The Matrix, The Terminator, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Blade Runner, and more.

But technology is super helpful too! (As I share in my new course.)

My entire business depends on online tools and systems to keep everything running smoothly for me and my clients. In fact, these automations save me time, money, and energy so I can live a happier life without wasting time doing everything manually.

Here are my 3 favorite automations that grow my business. 

1. Order Bumps

Order bumps are extra offers on the checkout page that are related or complementary products to the original product. For example, a digital planner might have an order bump for an anti-procrastination course. It’s a no-brainer extra purchase.

If the customer chooses the order bump product, then it’s automatically added to their total purchase without any extra marketing.

2. Tripwires

Tripwires are discounted offers presented immediately after a customer has made a purchase or signed up for something. Take advantage of their current buying momentum and show them a sales page with a discounted price and a countdown timer for extra urgency.

I use Deadline Funnel for my tripwires. Tripwire offers should be relevant and ideally the next logical step in their transformation.

3. Abandoned Cart Emails 

Did you forget something? Also called “Still Looking?” emails, these auto-emails are sent to customers who viewed the sales page or added items to their cart but haven’t completed the purchase.

This auto-email might be sent up to a day later to give them a friendly nudge. It serves as a reminder and leads to recovered sales.
