Book Review: Kick Ass With Mel Robbins
Do you ever get that sluggish feeling where you’re stuck in a rut and can’t seem to make any headway on your goals?
Maybe it’s burnout.
Maybe it’s boredom.
Or maybe you’re letting yourself off the hook and giving yourself permission to be lazy with your life.
It happens to me too, and that’s when I start looking for something to re-ignite my inner drive. You know, something to help me kick ass!
And I’m not talking about kicking other people’s asses like my clients who might be procrastinating. No, I want to kick my own ass and be the best Life Editor I can be.
Ready to see what you’re really made of?
We recently read Kickass With Mel Robbins in the Life Editor Clubhouse book club.
Surprisingly, this book is only available in an audio book format. Here’s why: Mel Robbins is a take-charge, in-your-face productivity guru, and her brand of tough love is best experienced by hearing her speak.
I recommend listening to her other books (such as the popular 5 Second Rule) in audio book format because she makes the lessons so dynamic.
Kick Ass With Mel Robbins contains recordings of actual coaching sessions with 8 of her clients. This stuff is raw and emotional, and Mel doesn’t hold back from digging into the truth behind her clients’ destructive behaviors.
Favorite parts: I love the editorial style exercises she uses such as naming the next chapter of your life or adopting a “best self” character. Her advice is spot on, and this book blew my mind several times.
