Question of the Week: Where Do You Feel Most at Peace?

Sometimes life can be kind of crummy, and you just want to crawl under a rock and cry. Or eat Twizzlers. Or both.

(Side note: check this out if you’re having a bad day, and watch this if you need to give yourself permission to cry.)

But when I’m feeling all mixed up and grumpy, I like retreating to someplace where I can feel a sense of peace.

More often than not, it means taking Skyla for a walk by the water and clearing my head…much like how she clears the ducks off the dock.

Good girl.

We all need peace and room to breathe. Graduates of the Editor Session will recognize this concept of “white space.” Just like the margins in a book, we need somewhere for our eyes (and mind) to relax in real life.

Where do you feel most at peace?

A nook in your home? A special restaurant or museum? Your place of worship? Or maybe it’s wherever you are as long as you’re with a special person?

In the comments below, share where you find peace in your life.

definitely at home…or wherever i am with my family. around a campfire in the wilderness is always good, too! (with twizzlers, of course)

      Twizzlers make everything better. 🙂

Great question. For me, it’s curled up on my couch, in a pink fluffy robe, reading blogs and drinking tea.

I’m usually drinking tea when I’m relaxing. My favorite is a hot cup of jasmine tea and a huge stack of fashion magazines.

    In my home:-)

I created a sanctuary. It’s so peaceful that my friends visit just to feel it. It’s just blissful:-)

Awesome! I agree that you should make your home a haven.

I feel most at peace at home, curled up with my hubby and my kitties! If I can’t have that, then I feel very at peace in a nice relaxing warm bath too.

    • Sage Grayson on November 20, 2013 at 9:22 am

A warm bath is awesome, and I like to soak in a hot tub too. Being at peace to me means that I’m warm enough.

I feel most at peace when I am outside observing nature with my camera. There, I marvel at God and his beautiful and complex creations. Other times are snuggling with my dogs and being with my husband. Great question and post! Love the dog and water in your photo.

I love being out in nature too, especially because I spend most of my time behind a desk. What are your favorite subjects for your photography?

This is a really great question. I’ve had a lot of those days lately where I just feel like I need to stop and have a good cry. You ever have that feeling where you just don’t feel comfort anywhere at any time? I’ve been feeling like that a lot until I had to fur baby sit for my bro and sister in law a week or two ago and I was curled up in the big, warm comfy bed with Tyler and one of the kitties. It was the happiest and most peaceful I’ve felt in a long time I was really grateful to have that break even for just 24 hours.

    • Sage Grayson on November 20, 2013 at 9:20 am

We all need a break sometimes, just to tell the world to go away for a while. I love cuddling up on the bed with my fur baby too. It’s impossible to stay grumpy when you’re snuggling a pet. 🙂

What a great post! And look at that pup! I think I feel best at home on the couch with my blankets and my dog sitting next to me. We have really big windows in the living room, so it is bright in there.

    • Sage Grayson on November 20, 2013 at 9:23 am

Aw, thanks, Sara! Skyla loves to pose for the camera.

Great question! One that’s incredibly hard to pinpoint an answer to instantly… However, I think I’m most comfortable on a Friday eve (work week behind me), sitting on the sofa with my cat & hubs–enjoying a fire in my Mickey Mouse jammies. 🙂

    • Sage Grayson on November 20, 2013 at 9:18 am

Yay for Mickey Mouse jammies! I’m a huge Disney fan, and I have Donald Duck PJs.
