Pigeon

So…I spent many hours this week mucking up my blog, and then many more hours un-mucking it up.

And then my head exploded. How was your week?

I switched from a third-party shopping cart program to a new shopping cart plugin that turned my website into a secured site (https). I was able to process payments directly through my website (yay!), but it deactivated my RSS feed, comments, and 3 other plugins (boo!).

To make a long (and boring) story short, I ditched the shopping cart and attempted to clean up the mess it left.

So what does this mean for my clients?

For those of you who have monthly payments coming up or need to renew your coaching package, I’ll discuss payment options during our next scheduled call. Of course, you can email me at sage@sagegrayson.com if you have specific questions about your account.

In the meantime, I’m working on a brilliant new plan to solve my shopping cart woes.

I’m in the process of training a squad of highly intelligent pigeons to handle my payments. When you order a coaching package, I’ll give your address to one of my pigeons so he can fly to you directly.

My dear friend Stella McCartney designed miniature backpacks and sequined berets with my logo on them for each pigeon. Once the pigeon arrives at your house, simply tuck your payment into the backpack. The pigeon will coo an adorable thank you song and fly back to me.

Some of you live much farther away than my little pigeons can safely fly. In cases like this, my other dear friend Sir Richard Branson says my pigeons can fly first class in his Virgin America planes at no cost. I can just imagine a little pigeon enjoying a martini and ogling the sexy flight attendants.

For now, my pigeon flight crew has been keeping me company while I clean up my blog and handle the day-to-day tasks of running a business.

They’re wonderful companions, but they can get expensive since they’ll only eat organic gluten-free birdseed from Whole Foods.

While clean up the soiled newspaper (ew…), here are some tidbits for you to peruse at your leisure.

Oh technology–can be such a pain sometimes! Hoping you get things all figured out soon! And thanks for sharing the link to my Valentine’s Day projects!

You’re welcome, Ashley! Your Valentine’s projects are super cute.

Ugh, so sorry you’ve had tech issues! I’ve been there, and there are few things in life more frustrating. I’m glad your pigeons are there to keep you company 🙂

I predict all companies will be hiring pigeon workforces in the future. 🙂 Technology is both good and bad, and I’m learning to take it all in stride.

Yikes, I’m sorry it’s been such a frustrating process for you! I feel like it’s just been a crazy week in general but it seems like you’ve been doing well and handling everything in stride! I’d love to see these Stella McCartney designed backpacks 😉 They sound adorable, lol!

Good luck getting everything sorted and thanks for the links!!

It’s a very intricate process sizing everything for pigeon bodies. As you can imagine, they don’t like to stay still for very long, so taking measurements can be a challenge.
Sometimes things just get crazy, but I know if won’t last forever. I just gotta laugh it off and keep moving. 🙂

I hate when that happens! Seems like every time I try to do something to makes things easier I wind up ruining other things in the process. So aggravating – especially the exploding head part 😉

    • Sage Grayson on February 9, 2013 at 8:28 am

Haha, yes, the exploding head part was very inconvenient! What can I say, I’m not very tech savvy but I keep trying. One day I’ll have a whole team helping me run my website, but for now I gotta stay positive and do what I can. 🙂

Oh my, it sounds like a frustrating mess! However, the pigeon solution sounds absolutelutyfreakin adorable! lol 🙂

Some really awesome sounding links this week. Mike’s napping right now, so it’s a perfect time for me to read!

I hope you have a great weekend and are able to get everything figured out!

    • Sage Grayson on February 9, 2013 at 10:44 am

Thanks, Molly. I find that most of life’s problems can be solved with well-trained pigeons. 🙂 I’m so glad you like the links. I enjoy seeing what other people are reading too. That’s how I find more blogs to follow (although I follow dozens already!).

      Have a good weekend!

Oooh, that sucks… but it also explains why my reader decided that I had to click through to your actual website to read them! It was really too bad, because the method I use to control the amount of time I spend blog reading is only reading sites that display in full on my reader. I was so happy to catch back up when they all reappeared in full last night!

    • Sage Grayson on February 9, 2013 at 8:26 am

Sorry about that! I only read the blogs that show up in my reader too, so I know how important it is for the RSS feed to be working properly. I was soooo frustrated when I realized my feed was broken. Thanks for sticking with me anyway, Cara. 🙂

Im sorry all that techy stuff happened, but you are funny!

    • Sage Grayson on February 9, 2013 at 8:23 am

I’m not very techy, but I’m persistent! One day I’ll have a team of tech people helping me run things.
