We’ve all heard of the power of one.

Today I want to talk about how the power of one can dramatically improve your happiness.
It’s easy: do one thing every day that makes you happy.
Most women I know put their happiness at the very bottom of their list…somewhere under “clean the litter box” and “find the sock that goes missing with every load of laundry.”
Too often our lives get bogged down with day-to-day tasks, errands, work responsibilities, family obligations, and other people’s drama.
Eventually, you’ll get burned out and declare, “That’s it! I’m putting myself first!”
And when you embark on some grand, earth-shattering quest for personal happiness, you might be tempted to make a dozen sweeping changes at once. Yeah, I’m sure you’ll stick to that routine. *cough*
Before you do, remember the KISS principle and rein it in a little.
What if you didn’t have to jostle every aspect of your life in order to be happy?
What if you could keep the same job, same partner, same neighborhood, same yappy dog and still be happy?
You can! It’s possible if you do one thing every day that makes you happy.
Just one. That’s it.
We all need little rays of sunshine in our days. Something special to look forward to. Something just for us. Something sweet.
I love watching a trashy reality TV show, or singing 80s pop songs, or writing in my aspiration journal.
That’s my time to be me without judgments or catering to other people.
Just one thing to make yourself happy. Totally doable, right?
And totally powerful.
