Hit Send! 3 Things to Always Include In Your Email Newsletter

Entrepreneurs get super excited about “killin’ it” on social media, but the real money is in your email newsletter list.

Your posts can get lost in the feed on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, but everyone checks their email.

An email newsletter subscriber list contains your most valuable customers. When your customers sign up, they’re raising their hands saying, “Yes! I want to hear from you!”

By nurturing your loyal followers, you’ll have them ready to open their wallets when you have something to sell.

If you want those interested folks to continue to read your emails, then consider adding a few touches to make your messages feel extra special.

Here are 3 things to always include in your email newsletter.

1. Your Photo

Most people sign up for dozens (even hundreds!) of email newsletters from their favorite influencers and brands. Personally, I receive more than 200 emails PER DAY.

I’m constantly weeding through them to find the ones worth reading or responding to. I’ll often open a marketing email and not remember who the sender is or why I signed up in the first place.

And you know what I do next: unsubscribe!

Stop your followers from unsubscribing by always including your photo in the emails you send. Add your headshot to the banner at the top and/or have a short bio with your smiling face at the bottom.

Your photo reminds the reader that you’re a real person and not some faceless corporation. This ups your “know, like, and trust factor,” and customers buy from real people they see repeatedly in their inboxes.

2. Your Subscriber’s Name

This is such an easy win, but most entrepreneurs forget to add this personal touch!

We love seeing our own names in print, so take the 5 seconds to add the code at the top of your emails for the subscriber’s first name.

I always start my emails with “Hey there NAME” to make it seem like I’m writing just for them and we’re having a casual conversation.

Occasionally I’ll insert their first name in the email subject line so my message really stands out from the crowd. Try it and watch your open rates soar!

3. A Call to Action

As they say, never leave ‘em hanging! A good entrepreneur gently guides her followers to the next step whenever they come to the end of a blog post, video, product, program,. . . or email newsletter.

What do you want your readers to do next? What is the logical path they should take through your sales funnel?

Your call to action could be big or small. Here are some examples:

  • Sign up for a free call.
  • Buy my training course.
  • Get your copy of the book I mentioned.
  • Subscribe on YouTube.
  • Follow me on Instagram.
  • Leave a comment on this post (LINK).

A clear call to action is a nice touch to signal to your reader that your time together isn’t over yet. There’s still so much more you have to offer!

This week, design your email newsletter to include your photo, your subscriber’s name, and a clear call to action.
