For Instant Happiness, Try Smile Meditation

When I ask people why they don’t meditate, I hear a lot of the same excuses:

  • It’s too complicated.
  • I’m not a Buddhist (or spiritual).
  • I don’t have time.

But meditation is actually very simple (if it’s complicated, you’re doing it wrong). You can meditate no matter what your religion is, and you can enjoy the benefits of meditation even if you only have a couple minutes a day.

Here’s my favorite meditation technique that you can master even if you’ve never meditated before. Really, it’s that easy.

No more excuses! Try smile meditation for an instant happiness boost.

Meditation is a godsend. It has little to do with religion, but everything to do with piece of mind. My anxiety may be primarily under control due to medication, but I still feel incredibly out of whack if I don’t take the time to clear my mind.

Most people think that it’s not this simple, but deciding to be happy is the first step to happiness. It takes a lot of ‘faking til you make it’ but one day you realize your first instinct isn’t to be negative and it’s worth it.

Absolutely! Meditation clears my mind in the mornings so I can focus on what’s really important.

This is so true! It takes more muscles to frown than to smile 🙂

I try to smile as much as possible–even when I’m not meditating. 🙂
