The Life Editor Podcast Ep. 16: Find Your Power Song

Today, I want to talk about how you can use music to give yourself unwavering confidence.

Music is an essential part of my everyday life, but my musical tastes are somewhat more narrow than the average person. I only listen to bright, happy songs that in some circles is referred to as “bubblegum pop.”

It’s a lot of sugary sweet lyrics, catchy hooks, and a danceable beat. If you happen to walk by my office while I’m working, you’d probably think a 12-year-old girl was hosting a radical slumber party in there.

I’m not embarrassed to say that I prefer happy pop music. It’s been my experience that what I listen to affects my mood, and listening to hours of mopey emo bands isn’t going to make me feel like I can accomplish my goals.

It’s the same with my clients. I’ll often ask them to change the music they listen to, the movies and TV shows they watch, and the people they hang around to just the ones that make them feel capable and enthusiastic.

Your energy is precious, so surround yourself with the things that build you up instead of bring you down.

In this week’s podcast, we’re talking about why you should find your power song.
