I spent most of my life as a pessimist. I’ve noticed that the times that I’ve been predominately an optimist have been some of the happiest times of my life (college, certain jobs, etc.). I absolutely agree that we have the power to choose what kind of day we have and I definitely work to sty optimistic. Sometimes it is difficult when everything seems to be crashing down but I just try to remember that I’ll walk out the other side and be ok.

I think we all go through pessimistic times sooner or later. I’ve found that when I let myself think pessimistic thoughts for too long, I start to attract more negative situations.

I am usually a pessimist until someone/something proves to me otherwise. Although, I always tell my kids “You can choose to have a good day or bad day.” Maybe I should take my own advice! Heather

You’re right–we DO choose the type of day we have. I have my pessimist moments too, but I also go back to choosing optimism.
