20 Things You Might Not Know About Me Blog Tag

This blog post is a part of the “20 Things You Might Not Know About Me” Blog Tag started by April from Blacksburg Belle. She began this blog tag experiment to build community among creatives, help us bloggers to connect more, and get to know each other better. This month’s topic is all about sharing just a little too much information about yourself. If you’d like to participate or want more info, check out the beginning post right here.

Question 1: How tall are you?

I’m 5’0’’. I’m very, very short. Being this height and having a bubbly personality means I get patted on the head often by acquaintances and random strangers.

This might bother ladies who wish they were taller, but I adore being a shorty. I purposely wear flats to appear as short as possible.

Question 2: Do you have a hidden talent? If so, what?

I can bend my fingers into a talking hand frog. Please hire me for your next children’s birthday party.

Question 3: What’s your biggest blog-related pet peeve?

People who use teeny tiny sized font in their blog posts. They also tend to be the people who drone on for one enormous paragraph without line breaks. I don’t care how good your content is—if your design sucks, I’m outta there!

Question 4: What’s your biggest non-blog-related pet peeve?

People who hold their forks like a shovel rather than like a pencil. It’s maddening.

Question 5: What’s your favorite song?

Would it be weird if I shared a song about depression? Meh!

It’s “Stranger in Moscow” by Michael Jackson. As a suicide-attempt survivor, I know exactly how it feels “when you’re alone and you’re cold inside.”

This is the biggest difference between me and other coaches: I don’t sympathize; I empathize.

Question 6: What’s your favorite Etsy shop that isn’t yours?

I don’t shop on Etsy. Cue the ranting emails in 3…2…1…

Question 7: What’s your favorite way to spend your free time when you’re alone?

Well, I have a NSFW answer, but let’s keep this PG. 🙂 I’d say watching reruns of my favorite shows like The Simpsons, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Question 8: What’s your favorite junk food?

Twizzlers or chocolate cupcakes.

Question 9: Do you have a pet or pets? If so, what kind and what are their names?

I have a gorgeous 3-year-old boxer/pit bull named Skyla. She’s super smart.

Question 10: What are your number one favorite nonfiction and fiction books?

Nonfiction: Eat, Pray, Love. I’m so obsessed with this book that I named my 6-month coaching package after it (Edit, Play, Love!).

Fiction: The Next Thing on My List. I made my first life list after reading this book. I hate the term “bucket list.”

Question 11: What’s your favorite beauty product?

Hurraw vegan lip balm. I have about 10 of them stashed around my home. Almond is my absolute favorite.

Question 12: When were you last embarrassed? What happened?

I can’t think of anything. How embarrassing. To make up for it, here’s a picture of me eating a penis-shaped donut. I ate the balls first.

Question 13: If you could only drink one beverage (besides water) for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Iced tea with lemon. And I mean unsweetened! Sweetened tea is disgusting.

Question 14: What’s your favorite movie?

Metropolis. This silent film inspired dozens of filmmakers. A close second is Lilo and Stitch.

Question 15: What were you in high school: prom queen, nerd, cheerleader, jock, valedictorian, band geek, loner, artist, prep?

My high school years were 1995-1999. They were the worst years of my life.

Freshman year: Suicidal cheerleader. Interesting combo, I know.

Sophomore year: Fat loner.

Junior year: Gay weirdo who liked to provoke people.

Senior year: Captain of the Speech Team and (seemingly) the only teenager in school with a car and a job.

High school was terrible. I didn’t really come into my own until college where I thankfully met my husband Chris.

Question 16: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

Inside the Haunted Mansion in the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. Or maybe the Carousel of Progress. Whatever. Just drop me off in Orlando and I’m good.

Question 17: PC or Mac?

Mac all the way.

Question 18: Last romantic gesture from a crush, date, boy/girlfriend, spouse?

Chris hung up all our artwork in our new apartment.

Question 19: Favorite celebrity?

Gretchen Rubin

Question 20: What blogger do you secretly want be best friends with?

Natalie MacNeil

I love this post! I love how there is so much new info in this tag too, especially considering that you’ve already posted “random facts” about yourself. Your donut picture made me laugh so hard and I appreciate your honesty. Hooray for shorties (I’m with ya girl) and my pet peeves are all eating related too 😉 High school was pretty awful for me too so I definitely can relate to you.

I’m with Ally, that picture of Skyla is adorable! Thanks for another great post! I always love learning new things about my favorite blogger buddies!

After seeing your title, I came hoping to learn something new about you — and you didn’t disappoint!

I had no idea of your size! My mom was 5’0″ so I know that height. In my mind, you’re huge so it’s hard to imagine your corporeal self being petite.

Lots more other interesting stuff here, too. The portrait of Skyla is too cute for words — it looks like a magazine photo from Cute Dog Weekly.
